SAN MARCOS, Texas — San Marcos police say the man they have linked to the sexual assault at The Edge apartments that reportedly occurred April 29 is not connected to the additional three incidents occurring at the Cottages and the Retreat within the last two weeks.

  • SMPD say man arrested not connected to 3 other incidents
  • Only connected to April 29 incident
  • Anyone with info in the other incidents should call police

Police are urging all residents to stay cautious, lock your doors and windows, and report any suspicious behavior.

"We're asking the public that if you have any surveillance or security footage that may have happened this offender fleeing from the crime or arriving to the scenes of these crimes, please review your footage,” San Marcos Police Chief Chase Stapp said. “If you find anything like that and we will review that footage with you and take copies of it if it has evidence on it."

The U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the FBI Central Texas Violent Crimes Task Force arrested 27-year old Keith Louis III in Austin just before noon. He was wanted for a rape that reportedly happened April 29.

Police booked Louis into the Hays County Jail.
