SAN MARCOS, Texas – San Marcos police are searching for an armed man who is believed to have broken into two apartments in the same complex within one week.
- 2 break-ins in 1 week at apartment
- Armed intruder sexually assaulted a woman
- Threatened residents with handgun
Two break-ins with a similar suspect occurred at the Cottages of San Marcos on 1415 Craddock Ave.
The first break-in was on April 24 when man broke into a woman’s apartment and hid in her bedroom until she got home at 3:45 p.m. The woman arrived to find the man hiding in her home. He threatened her with a handgun and then sexually assaulted her.
The man is described a black male in his 20s with an athletic build. He is approximately 6 feet tall, and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants, black gloves, black socks, black slide sandals, and a mask covering the lower half of his face.
The second break in was on April 30 when a man entered the same apartment complex and threatened a resident with a handgun. The suspect's description matches the armed intruder from six days before.

Police are reminding residents to lock all of the doors and windows in their home before leaving.
