It’s been two weeks since Tenetia Cullum lost her 3-year-old son Bryce after he fell in a grease trap behind Tim Hortons and died.
Now, she’s hiring a lawyer to look into the situation.
Attorney Lori Robb Monaghan is looking to see if anyone is at fault in Bryce's death.
She says the main concern is that the grease trap lid was unsecure, allowing Bryce to fall in and become trapped.
Robb Monaghan says there is a lot of investigating to do.
She has just started looking into the reports around the tragedy and does not yet know if or when a lawsuit will be filed.
"We really need to know who was responsible for the condition it was in that day so that we can hold them accountable, there is no compensation in the world that is ever going to bring that little boy back, but this mother feels compelled to protect anybody out there from ever having to go through anything like this again,” said Robb Monaghan.
Since the tragic incident, lawmakers on the state and county level have introduced legislation to regulate grease trap maintenance and Monroe County has instituted safe sweeps to check existing lids.
