GREECE, N.Y. — Lawn bowling or bocce is fun for all ages and all skill levels. The town of Greece has two, 60-foot outdoor bocce courts.

Sue Reinhardt loves getting outdoors to play bocce every Tuesday at the drop-in bocce program at the Greece Community Center.

  • The "Fun with Friends" program plays bocce every Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

  • Bocce is a fun, simple game for all ages and skill levels

“I enjoy being out with my friends and coming back to the community center. It’s been a long haul but I am glad that we are getting back into the activities and the nice weather and being with the friendly group," said Reinhardt from Greece.

A lot of the bocce players are also bowlers in the Greece Parks and Recreation “Fun with Friends” program for youth and adults with special needs.

"It is very popular," said Addison Steven from the Greece Parks and Recreation Department. "A lot of people get very serious about it. I have a tape measure out just in case. It is much more than taking the ball and rolling it there is a lot of strategy involved.”

You can bring your own bocce gear to play anytime on the courts. Bocce balls are also available at the community center during business hours. The Tuesday bocce program will continue outside as long as the weather cooperates.
