Irondequoit rolled their way to a 39-8 win over East High in the Class A semifinal Friday night.

Irondequoit came out hot with Freddy June Jr.  finding Quinn Simonson in the endzone for the first score of the night. One of the marquee players in Section V, June lived up to the hype.

Our Spectrum Sports Player of the Game, June was seven of 12 for 80yards and two touchdowns in the first half. The mobile quarterback also had 12 carries for 115 yards before the break.

Irondequoit seemed to let up on the gas a bit in the second, not finding the endzone until late in the third. Head coach Dan Fichter elected to rest his starters early in the fourth.

Overall the season looked very promising for East, finishing with a 7-2 record under first year co-head coaches James Vann and Steve Flager.

Irondequoit is now heading into a rematch with Victor in the finals. The two met in the regular season with Irondequoit pulling off the win 28-21.

But don't count out the Blue Devils in that rematch. Victor punched their ticket into the finals by dominating Canandaigua 27-7. The top-seeded Braves shut out the Blue Devils in the regular season.

For Irondequoit, it will be their second Class A finals appearance in as many years.

"We've been here before, we know what we have to do. I'll just tell my team to be ready, treat it like any other game and play 100 percent," said June.

That matchup scheduled for next Friday at 7 p.m.
