ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Human remains discovered in Durand Eastman Park have been identified as belonging to an Irondequoit woman found dead last week.
The Monroe County medical examiner's office has positively identified the remains as those of 37-year-old Lisa Shuler.
The remains were found Monday in Durand Lake in Rochester, near the Irondequoit border, and reported to authorities. Irondequoit police and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office responded and began the recovery process.
Schuler, according to police, was found dead at her home on Culver Road on May 25. Police immediately labeled her death as "suspicious."
Investigators say Schuler's boyfriend, Seth Larson, 40, whom she lived with, is considered a person of interest in the case. He fled the area, according to police, and was last confirmed to be in Maryland on May 25.
Surveillance cameras captured images of Larson and his vehicle while he was still in the Rochester area on May 24.
Larson is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall with tattoos on both forearms. He may have either short brown hair or his head shaved bald. Police say they have also learned he has rotting teeth.
Police believe he may be driving a blue 2011 Nissan Juke with New York plate FTP 6756. They say his plates are peeling, making them easier to identify.
Anyone with any information on Larson's whereabouts or any details about the case is asked to call 911, the Irondequoit Police Department at 585-336-6000 ext. 2200, or CrimeStoppers at (585) 423-9300.
