A Greece man is facing several weapon charges after deputies say he was found with guns stolen from two shops in Monroe County.

Deputies say they executed a search warrant at 38-year-old Richard Tellier's house last week, where they found more than a dozen firearms, drugs, and ammunition.

Among the guns recovered, investigators say the found a handgun that was stolen from Chinappi's gun shop in Parma. Another gun stolen from Mr. Gold Pawn Shop on Lyell Avenue was also recovered.

The sheriff's office describe what they found in tellier's home as a type of "hoarding."

"At this point — just to say that he possessed the weapons," said Sgt. John Watson, Monroe County Sheriff's Office. "We don't have any belief that he planned to use them against any people or anything of that sort. I think more than anything he was just a collector of guns."

Neighbors say good things about Tellier.

"Always been good to my son, always been good to me, very pleasant to talk to," Lewis Bianchi said.

"He’s been a great neighbor, fantastic," Dan Welch added. "I have no complaints whatsoever."

After being burglarized seven times since 2007 — Chinappi's was used as an example when Rep. Joe Morelle introduced legislation last month to hold gun dealers accountable for failing to keep their inventory safe.
