After four and a half hours of deliberation, a jury in Wayne County has found Timothy Dean guilty on all counts in the deaths of Joshua Niles and Amber Washburn.
- Former Sunray, Texas police chief Timothy Dean found guilty in Sodus double murder
- Estranged wife, Sunray police officer have both pleaded guilty for their roles and testified against Dean
- Dean could face 25 years to life in prison without the possibility of parole
Dean remained stoic as the sentence was delivered, but family of the victims had to be quieted by the judge as emotions erupted in the gallery.
Dean was found guilty of first-degree murder and a count of second-degree murder for both victims.
The jury also found him guilty of conspiracy and two counts of criminal possession of a firearm related to the October double homicide in Sodus.
The prosecution's testimony sought to prove how Dean conspired with Charlene Childers, his estranged wife, and Bron Bohlar, a former police colleague in Sunray, Texas, to carry out the crime.
Childers and Bohlar have already pleaded guilty for their roles in the case and testified against Dean this week.
Childers shared children with Niles, and lost custody of them before the murders.
Dean remains in custody and is set to be sentenced in Lyons on July 25, where he could face 25 years to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
