A courtroom at the Monroe County Hall of Justice was named Tuesday in honor of Susan B. Anthony.

A bust of the suffragette from 1884 has been at the courthouse since 1983.

It was restored and unveiled as part of the dedication and will now stand outside the courtroom named in her honor.

"I believe that displaying this bust of Susan B. Anthony and dedicating this courtroom, we are proclaiming that not only are all are welcome here, but that our doors are unlatched and opened to all who seek assistance, guidance and justice," said East Rochester Town Justice Amy Monachino.

Anthony was a leader in the women's suffrage movement and gained most of her popularity while living in her family’s Rochester home.
