An investigation is underway after Buffalo Police say two men were killed in the Allentown neighborhood Tuesday evening.
Police say the two men, identified as Michael Harmon, 40, and Jordan Celotto, 37, were found dead in their home from blunt force trauma.
Officers were called to a home on St. Louis Place for reports of a man with a knife. When officers arrived on scene, police say the man did drop the knife but only after cutting himself. That man was taken to the hospital and is a person of interest, police say.
City officials say Harmon and Celotto were members of the LGBTQ+ community and were partners. Officials say right now there is no indication of a hate crime but they will follow up on any leads they receive.
Buffalo Councilmember Mitch Nowakowski knew Harmon and Celotto personally and spoke on their impact in the community.
"I want everybody to know that these people were artists," he said. "[They] were people of the Allentown community who made it better, who made things happen [and] who worked with me ever since I got into office. When you look and see Allentown, its festivals, its vibrancy, its artwork, think of them, because that is who they are."
Right now, police say some early indications lead them to believe the alleged attacker did not know Harmon and Celotto. A motive has not yet been released.
