A boil water order has been lifted for all Fredonia water customers, including residents in the town of Pomfret.

Water testing has indicated that there is no longer a need to boil water.

According to New York state, there was a disruption in a disinfection treatment, which made the water not safe to drink as it could contain harmful microbes.
