PITTSFORD, N.Y. — The 2025 Bicentennial Erie Canalway Calendar is out now and is available for free. The Erie Canal will celebrate its 200th anniversary. Calendars are available at participating libraries and visitor centers throughout the Erie Canalway Corridor from Buffalo to Rochester, Syracuse and Saratoga Springs.
The Bicentennial Erie Canalway Calendar features the winning images selected from more than 350 entries in this year's Erie Canalway Photo Contest including Charles Cappellino’s photo of a summer night of boating in Seneca Falls. The month of of May features an honorable mention photo of a buoy tender hard at work photographed by James Craner in Troy. Enjoy a walk in Little Falls through a photo taken by Dave Warner.
Patrick Stenshorn is the education program manager for the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor, he is all about helping people discover and connect with the more than 500 miles of connected waterways and trails across the state. The calendar is a free and fun way to share the beauty.
"Each of the photographs really highlight a different aspect of what is different about this region, the history, the environment, the nature, recreation that you can do. It is just a way to allow us to celebrate the area that we live in," said Patrick Stenshorn, education program manager at the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor.
