Police, clearly to keep these protesters and the public safe, had previously stopped traffic in both directions.
The protesters spent time marching on I-490 and then crossed over the Frederick Douglass-Susan B. Anthony Memorial Bridge. Some protestors were explaining their message along the way.
"To end racism in our city, to dismantle white supremacy. In the system, because racism is a system and there’s people who are using the system to keep people oppressed," Aqueelah Sovereign Bey of Rochester said.
Counter protesters also came in support of the police. And it was these flag-carrying men who faced off with some in the crowd.

The group calls this a successful event because they did shut it down. They also say they plan to shut it down again very soon.
