EAST ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police have made two arrests after a man was killed outside the RTS bus station on St. Paul Street in the city.
According to the RPD, Armani Allen, 24, was shot, stabbed and beaten to death on Thursday. Through their investigation, authorities were able to identify Ronald and Donald Brown, both 47, as the suspects in the case.
Rochester police say the U.S. Marshal's Violent Felony Fugitive Task Force tracked down Ronald Brown on Sunday around 9:30 p.m. in the area of North Washington Street and West Linden Avenue in East Rochester. They say he was arrested without incident.
His brother, Donald Brown, was discovered hiding in the basement of a Linden Avenue apartment building around 5:15 a.m. on Monday following the execution of a search warrant by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office SWAT team, police say. He was also arrested without incident.
Authorities say both suspects were charged with second-degree murder. A handgun that police believe belonged to the suspects was recovered and they say additional charges related to the gun could be considered by the Monroe County Grand Jury.
According to investigators, both suspects have multiple prior felony convictions and could not legally possess a firearm in New York state.
The Rochester Police Department says Armani Allen's murder on Thursday marked Rochester's 71st homicide in 2021. Over the weekend, the homcide toll climbed to 75 following the fatal shootings of four more people.
Mayor Lovely Warren has declared a state of emergency in Rochester due to the ongoing violence.
