Rochester Police officers spent this busy holiday weekend investigating shootings, stabbings, fatal motorcycle crashes, an alleged assault on police officers, and even the vandalism of an important Rochester statue.
Right now, police say 13 people were shot over the weekend.
Police have already made several arrests, including 34-year-old Shallah Sherman of Rochester who faces criminal possession of a weapon charges after a triple shooting on Chili Avenue.
A 17-year-old man, 20-year-old man and 33-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in that incident.
Police are looking for the other people who were also shooting.
Just a couple hours later, while police investigated the shooting of a 16-year-old boy, officers were approached by a large group of people on Pennsylvania Avenue near Sixth Street.
Police say two people grabbed an officer's arms, another officer was punched in the head, and a third officer was injured while trying to help.
30-year-old Batholomew Murdock is charged with assaulting a police officer.
Three others were charged with obstruction.
Police are also still investigating a shooting on Rugby Street that left a 29-year-old Rochester man fighting for his life.
Police say officers first on scene were able to give critical first aid to the victim before the ambulance arrived.
And a 46-year-old woman is expected to recover after she was stabbed at least once in the area of Jefferson Ave and Tremont Street at around 2 am yesterday.
