An Ontario County grand jury has voted to indict two more suspects charged in connection with the death of Sam Nordquist.

Police announced last Thursday that Kimberly Sochia, 29, of Canandaigua, and Thomas Eaves, 21, of Geneva, were taken into custody. They are both charged with second-degree murder — depraved indifference, investigators say. Sochia and Eves now face at least one felony charge each following the indictment. They will return to county court once the indictment is filed.

Seven people have been arrested after police say Nordquist, a 24-year-old transgender man from Minnesota, was killed earlier this month outside Canandaigua in Ontario County after he was attacked and tortured for weeks leading up to his death. His body was recovered in a field on Payne Road in Yates County, according to police.

Those previously indicted by a grand jury on a second-degree murder charge in the case include:

  • Precious Arzuaga, 38, of Geneva
  • Jennifer Quijano, 30, of Geneva
  • Kyle Sage, 33, of Hopewell
  • Patrick Goodwin, 30, of Rochester
  • Emily Motyka, 19, of Rochester

Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of Nordquist's death.
