One of the men convicted in connection with the double homicide at a Chili’s restaurant in DeWitt last year is headed to prison.
Ryan Brown was given the maximum sentence of two-and-one-third to seven years in prison during his sentencing Tuesday after pleading guilty to hindering prosecution.
Prosecutors said Brown withheld information about the murder of two employees during a robbery at the Chili's restaurant on Erie Boulevard back in September.
He addressed the victims' families, apologizing for their loss but maintaining that he had nothing to do with the actual crime.
William Wood Jr. was sentenced earlier this month to life in prison without parole for the shooting deaths of former co-workers Kristopher Hicks and Stephen Gudknecht. Wood also meant to shoot more people at Chili’s but his gun jammed.
Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick also said in March that Wood had planned to also attack Ruby Tuesday’s on Carrier Circle, where he worked previously.
Three other people still face charges in connection with the case. Ronald Green is accused of being the getaway driver. Jerome Pinkard and Brown’s mother, Tracey Brown, are accused of providing the gun used in the murders.
