The man who recently pleaded guilty to shooting and killing two employees during a robbery at a Chili’s restaurant in DeWitt was planning another attack at a different local restaurant, according to Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick.

William Wood Jr. was planning to rob the Ruby Tuesday's restaurant on Carrier Circle, the DA said.

Wood, a former employee at Chili’s, had also worked at Ruby Tuesday’s, so he was familiar with the location.

He admitted last week to ten charges, including first and second degree murder.  He faces life in prison without parole after he admitted to shooting and killing two former co-workers, Kristopher Hicks and Stephen Gudknecht, during a robbery at the Erie Blvd. restaurant in September.

Wood meant to shoot more people at the Chili's restaurant, but his gun jammed after he shot two people, prosecutors say.

Federal prosecutors could still seek the death penalty in his case.
