Scattered areas of moderate to heavy snow through this afternoon and evening will gradually taper to snow showers overnight.

Highs will linger in the upper 20s and lower 30s with a bitter cold north wind. Expect 4 to 8 inches of additional snow accumulation around the Albany Capital District Valleys with locally 6 to 12 or more inches in some of the hills and mountain towns. 

Lows tonight drop into the lower 20s. Tuesday morning snow showers taper for most with variable clouds, some partial sun for the afternoon and highs in the low 30s with brisk northwest breezes.
