The United Way of the Greater Capital Region is inviting you to help others this Wednesday.

May 18 is the non-profit’s annual 518 Day of Service. You can volunteer at more than 80 different service projects from gardening, packing diaper bags for local moms to a virtual 5K. There’s even random acts of kindness bingo. All you have to do is decide where you want to volunteer and for how long.

The United Way calls it the largest day of community impact in the Capital Region.

“We all want to be part of something that’s bigger than ourselves, and May 18 every year is a great chance to do it. And we hope it’s a catalyst to get people to volunteer all year long,” said Peter Gannon, CEO and president of the United Way of the Capital Region.
