Next weekend will be your last weekend to open burn before the annual burn ban goes into effect.
It starts on March 16 and ends on May 14.
According to the DEC, the ban was implemented in 2009 and since then, the number of wildfires has dropped by more than 40%.
Be sure to check with your local fire department before burning as some counties and towns require a permit.
