1. NYSCOPBA leaders: Union membership 'has no faith in us right now' as strike continues
Leaders from the state Correction Officers and Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOPBA) came out Wednesday appearing to feel isolated from its members and the state as the wildcat strike its members are partaking in hit its 17th day.
2. Onondaga Co. exec: Despite Trump comments, Micron project is still on
Despite what President Donald Trump said in his address to Congress Tuesday night, Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon said the future Micron plant outside Syracuse is moving forward at "full-steam ahead."
3. Grand jury elevates charges in Sam Nordquist's death to first-degree murder
An Ontario County grand jury has upgraded the charges against the suspects arrested in connection with the death of Sam Nordquist. All seven suspects accused of torturing and ultimately killing Nordquist outside Canandaigua are now charged with first-degree murder, New York state's most serious charge, according to Ontario County First Assistant DA Kelly Wolford.
4. Raw milk at farm in Ballston Spa tests positive for listeria
Customers who purchased raw milk from Willow-Marsh Farm between February 26 and March 2 are advised not to consume it. The farm was recovering from its first listeria contamination in January and started selling again in mid-February. Raw milk sales have been temporarily halted again, and the farm plans to retest soon.
5. Trump administration pauses flow of intelligence to Ukraine that helps on battlefield
Information about Russia's intentions and military movements has been critical to Ukraine's defense and a strong indication of support from the U.S. and other Western allies. The suspension comes after Trump paused military aid to Ukraine and is another sign of how he has transformed America's relationship with close allies.
6. Trump grants Detroit automakers tariff exemption for 1 month
On Wednesday morning, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick suggested in an interview with Bloomberg TV that the companies may be exempted from the recent tariffs on Canada and Mexico.
