1. 'You don't take any responsibility for the outcome of your actions': Kevin Monahan sentenced in fatal shooting

Kevin Monahan has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the fatal shooting of Kaylin Gillis last spring. Monahan, 66, was convicted on three charges in January by a Washington County jury. It stemmed from the shooting death of 20-year-old Gillis in Monahan’s driveway last spring after police say she and a group of friends got lost.

2. Newburgh town police seek suspects in armed home invasion

Town of Newburgh police said Friday they are looking for multiple individuals who broke into a home and threatened its residents at gunpoint after one of the suspects posed as an Amazon delivery worker.  

3. Hochul: $45M going to 7 N.Y. locations to attract high-tech manufacturing businesses

More than $45 million has been awarded to improve seven locations in New York so that they may attract high-tech manufacturing businesses, Gov. Kathy Hochul's office announced Friday. The money comes from the FAST NY (Focused Attraction of Shovel-Ready Tracts) program, which is designed to prepare and develop sites to increase the chances of large employers and high-manufacturing companies to settle on those locations.

4. Federal prosecutors seek July trial for Trump in classified documents case

Federal prosecutors are requesting a July 8 trial for former President Donald Trump on charges that he illegally retained and concealed classified documents. Defense lawyers say no trial should be conducted this year but proposed Aug. 12 as an alternative possibility.

5. Biden says Israel-Hamas hostage deal unlikely by Monday as death toll in Gaza surpasses 30,000

Speaking to reporters on Thursday before traveling to Texas, President Joe Biden said that he didn't expect a pause in fighting Israel and Hamas to go into effect by Monday. "Hope springs eternal," Biden said, adding: "I was on the telephone with the people in the region. Probably not by Monday, but I’m hopeful."

6. CVS, Walgreens will start selling abortion pill mifepristone

Walgreens will begin selling the FDA-approved drug in some of its stores in California, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts later this month. CVS will make it available at all of its locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, with plans to expand access further "where allowed by law, on a rolling basis."
