With schools still closed, parents continue to look for ways to bring the classroom into their homes.
The Vegetable Project has a solution: Grow a garden.
The organization was started a few years ago in Albany and helps to grow gardens at Myers Middle School and Albany High School. Those behind The Vegetable Project say this introduces students to the benefits of gardening and parents can start gardening indoors.
Things like peas will begin growing inside before they have to be moved into the garden.
"The nature of starting a seed, nurturing it, thinking about what you are going to do with it, what you grow, is one that prompts questions, searches for answers, and leverages curiosity," says Bill Stoneman, president of the Vegetable Project.
There are plenty of other resources on the Vegetable Project's website, including tips on growing your own pea shoots.
