With less than a week left until the NFL Draft, the focus continues on who the Buffalo Bills could potentially target.
We're staying on the interior offensive line with a look at one of the biggest guards in the draft class.
O’Cyrus Torrence is more of a throwback offensive lineman. He’s a big dude pushing people around, measuring in at 6-5 and 330 pounds, with his testing numbers at the NFL Combine coming in towards the lower portion of the position group.
“Physicality -- I’m very physical and explosive off the ball,” Torrence said. "[I’m a] smart player. I can decipher a defense pretty fast. Once I get the offensive game plan it goes to my mind and I kind of get it down pat real fast. It’s a player you want on your team that’s going to bring a good team spirit and good energy every day. [I’m] somebody you want to practice with and want to go to war with.”
Torrence spent the first three seasons of his college career playing guard at Louisiana, starting 36 games for the Ragin Cajuns.
He followed his head coach to Florida this past season, where his game elevated with the competition and earned consensus All-American honors.
“It showed teams that I can switch and be in a different environment and also compete at a higher level,” Torrence said. “Also be able to flip the switch fast and be able to get to know new people, new teammates and being able to get comfortable in a new spot. Being able to still perform under a lot of pressure in a different area that I’m maybe not used to.”
Torrence is absolutely in the running to be the guard selected in the draft and is expected to get picked somewhere in the first round.
