BUFFALO, N.Y. — Additional 97 Rock employees have been fired after The Morning Bull Show received national backlash for racial remarks made on the air.

A spokesperson for Cumulus Media says:

"Upon further consideration following the racist incident that occurred on The Morning Bull Show, we decided to terminate the whole morning show in addition to the Program Director."

Radio personalities Rich Gaenzler and Chris Klein, as well as Program Director John Hager, were fired just weeks after DJ Rob Lederman, who made comments comparing burnt toast to the color of Black women's skin, citing Halle Berry and Serena Williams as examples.

It sparked national outrage, causing Berry herself to respond on Twitter.

The Buffalo Association of Black Journalists recently met with 97 Rock and Cumulus Media following the comments, and called the meeting with company leadership "genuine and productive."
