Martin Gugino, the 75-year-old protester who was allegedly pushed by Buffalo police officers on June 4, has been released from the hospital, according to his attorney, Kelly Zarcone.
Gugino can walk "with a little help," according to Zarcone. He will continue his recovery at a private location.
The officers involved, Robert McCabe, 32, and Aaron Torgalski, 39, have both been arraigned on one count of second-degree assault.
Gugino, a longtime activist, has protested against the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, for charges against the officer who killed Tamir Rice, and has worked with is a member of the nonprofits Western New York Peace Center, and PUSH Buffalo. He is also involved with the Catholic Worker Movement.
His fall has since attracted national attention, including that of President Donald Trump, who accused Gugino of possibly having ties to ANTIFA, or trying to disrupt the police's communications. These claims have been rebuked by multiple figures, including Zarcone, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, and Governor Andrew Cuomo.
