Before a cold front arrives in the region Monday, high pressure will slide into the Carolinas for a weekend visit today. Expect more sun than clouds Saturday as highs will be near or slightly above normal for much of the area. Expect highs to range between the upper 60s to low 70s. High pressure will keep skies mostly clear tonight as lows dip into the 40s.

As you try to take advantage of our dry and warm weather, remember the pollen. The tree pollen count has been high for the past few weeks, and based off historical data, the pollen count may get worse. Tree pollen usually peaks through the month of April, so those of you with allergies be mindful of how much time your spending outside.

As the cold front moves in from the west, the high will drift offshore. It will likely keep conditions dry, but due to the front clouds will become more pronounced in the sky. A few isolated showers cannot be ruled out late Sunday night. The front will likely stall across the Virginia state line Monday. This will produce a few scattered light showers primarily through the afternoon and evening hours.

Through midweek, warmer temperatures are expected as a mid-level ridge helps bring in warmer air. Wednesday will likely be the warmest day of the week in the 80s.
