RALEIGH, N.C. -- Enjoy the beautiful weather now! Summer’s heat arrives this weekend.
Wednesday morning was chilly across central North Carolina, overnight lows will not be quite a cool.
Thursday will begin a warming trend with highs around 80 to the low 80s. That is right around average for mid-May.
Then, above average temperatures are expected for Friday and the weekend. Most of central North Carolina should see the first 90-degree days of the year by Saturday and Sunday.
The summer-like temperatures this coming weekend may stick around for a while. The long range outlook from the Climate Prediction Center shows above average temperatures are expected most days for at least the next couple of weeks.
