RALEIGH, N.C. -- Severe weather moved through central North Carolina Friday, causing downed trees and damage but we'll see quieter weather into the weekend. 

Many counties in the central NC region were under tornado watches, with eastern counties of the state under watches until midnight. Many reports of damage have been reported and some of this damage may have been caused by a few tornadoes. They were reported near Chapel Hill, Roxboro, and Smithfield.

Any showers will end through the overnight with a mix of sun and clouds in the Saturday forecast.  We may see a few showers develop by Saturday afternoon and evening.

Easter Sunday looks partly cloudy with below average temperatures.

More sunshine is in the forecast for early next week with warmer temperatures in the forecast.
