There's always plenty to do in Ohio over the weekend, but Spectrum News 1 gathered some of the highlights around each major metropolitan area across the state.

Here's some of this weekend's events:

Cleveland

FAPL 5k and 1-mile Dog Walk

  • When and where: 8:30 a.m. May 10 at 6150 Ford Road in Elyria
  • Cost: $35 for the 5k run/walk or $25 for the 1-mile dog walk
  • Info: This is an inaugural event hosted by the Friendship Animal Protective League, with all proceeds going toward their mission

Mother's Day Weekend at Greater Cleveland Aquarium 

  • When and where: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 10 and 11 at the Cleveland Aquarium, located at 2000 Sycamore Street in Cleveland
  • Cost: Mothers/stepmoms/foster moms and grandmothers get in for $9.98 with the purchae of another ticket
  • Info: The aquarium will feature discounts for mothers, parenting-themed activities and even a celebratory pin during these days

Columbus

Mothers Day Tea in the Topiary Garden

  • When and where: 2 p.m. May 10 and 11 at Topiary Park, located at 480 E Town St.
  • Cost: Free (RSVP required)
  • Info: An annual outdoor performance by the Columbus Modern (CoMo) Dance Company, alongside tea and cookies during intermission 

Women's Health and Wellness Fair

  • When and where: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. May 10 at the Bexley Public Library, located at 2411 East Main St.
  • Info: This event offers the chance to hear from various experts in a number of health fields as well as meet with local women's health vendors. There will also be a James Mobile Mammography unit in the library parking lot starting at 9 a.m.

Cincinnati

54th Annual Appalahian Festival

  • When and where: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. May 10 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 11 on the Ohio River on Front Street in the New Richmond business district
  • Cost: General admission is $15, kids ages 5-17 are $5 and those 4 and younger are free. They are accepting cash only.
  • Info: This event allows attendees to "celebrate the rich traditions and stories of the Appalachian region" through music, art, food, artisan shops and more

Gorman Heritage Farm May Farm Fest 2025

  • When and where: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 10 at Gorman Heritage Farm, located at 10052 Reading Road in Evendale
  • Cost: $15 for adults, $10 for seniors over 60 and children 2-17
  • Info: Whether you're looking to get a close-up view of tractors, farm animals or reptiles, there's plenty to do at this event that also includes hay rides, face painting, food and more

Dayton

Healthy Kids Day

  • When and where: 12 to 4 p.m. May 10 at Riverscape MetroPark, located at 237 E. Monument Ave. in Dayton
  • Cost: Free
  • Info: There's plent of family-friendly fun at this event including fitness classes, arts and crafts, a fun run and more

Cars and Coffee

  • When and where: 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. May 10 at Austin Landing, located at 3601 Rigby Rd #310 in Miamisburg
  • Cost: Free
  • Info: This event boasts that it's the largest such gathering in the state. Check out a variety of cars in a variety of styles

Toledo

Toledo Air Show

  • When and where: May 10-11 at the Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport, located at 11013 Airport Hwy in Swanton
  • Cost: Adults ages 13-64 are $35, children, seniors, military and first responders are $15. Those in uniform military/first responders free and children 3 and under are free
  • Info: See performances from various pilots including the USAF Thunderbirds during this weekend-long event

Mother's Day at Schedel Arboretum & Gardens

  • When and where: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 11 at the gadens, located at 19255 West Portage River South Road in Elmore
  • Cost: Moms receive free admission
  • Info: In addition to free admission for mothers, this even offers mimosas for purchase, food trucks and even a free plant for the first 100 moms
