Columbus

Central Ohio Folk Festival

  • When and where: May 3 and 4 at Highbanks Metro Park in Lewis Center, Ohio 
  • Info: Enjoy various performances including Saturday's headliner Richard Shindell at this event that also includes activities for kids, music workshops and more

COSI Big Science Celebration

  • When and where: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 3 at the Center of Science and Industry, located at 333 W Broad St. in Columbus
  • Info: This event is the last day of a four-day long festival celebrating science. This is your chance to meet with professionals and researchers, take part in science activites and more

Cincinnati

Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon Weekend

  • When and where: May 2-4 at various locations, see website for details
  • Cost: Registration costs vary depending on race, see website for details
  • Info: It's more than just a race. Whatever distance you're able to do, there's a race for you this weekend at the Flying Pig Marathon. There's also a family fun festival, victory party and more

GrowFest

  • When and where: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 3 at the Civic Garden Center: 2715 Reading Road in Cincinnati
  • Info: Plant-lovers get ready for this event featuring plenty of flora, information sessions, music, activities for kids and more

Dayton

Art on the Playground 2025

  • When and where: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Habitat Environmental Center, located at 3036 Bellflower Street in Kettering
  • Cost: Free
  • Info: This all-ages event features lieve performances, art projects and more

A World A'Fair

  • When and where: May 2-4 at the Greene County Expo Center and Fairgrounds, located at 120 Fairground Road in Xenia (times vary, see website for details)
  • Cost: Tickets cost $10 for aduts, $8 for kids and seniors
  • Info: This three-day international festival allows visitors to enjoy live performances, try various foods and learn more about the world around them

Toledo

Cedar Point opening day

  • When and where: May 3 at Cedar Point amusement park, located at 1 Cedar Point Drive in Sandusky
  • Cost: General admission tickets start at $50
  • Info: You know the rides, the food, the games. The summer amusement park season starts this weekend

Heritage Car Show

  • When and where: May 3 at Heritage Church, located at 3520 Strayer Road in Maumee
