NORTH CAROLINA -- Seems like Gov. Roy Cooper and host Stephen Colbert have put the friendly beef and jokes aside. Colbert kept his word and has donated proceeds from his book to help people impacted by storms in the state last year. 

Last week, Colbert sent a letter and a $412,412 check to Gov. Cooper addressing it to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund. The children's book, Whose Boat Is This Boat? Comments That Don't Help in the Aftermath of a Hurricane, was produced by the staff at The Late Show. It is made up of quotes by President Trump following Hurricane Florence. 

"We hope this will help the Carolinas recover from the disastrous weather last fall," the letter reads.

 

 

Colbert grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. It's a good chance he prefers the state's mustard-base sauce over North Carolina's vinegar-based sauce. The two shared jokes after Colbert called North Carolina barbecue poorly flavored during one of his segments
