CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Area Transit System says it will experience service impacts in the Uptown area beginning Sunday due to the Republican National Convention.

Impacts are expected on Sunday, August 23 and Monday, August 24. Normal operations should resume on Tuesday, August 25, CATS says.
The following information regarding changes has been released:
Bus Service
The following routes will experience impacts:
- Local routes 5 (Sprinter), 35 and 16
- Express routes 40X, 46X, 52X, 64X, 65X and 74X
- MetroRAPID routes 48X, 53X, 63X and 77X
LYNX Blue Line
There will be no LYNX Blue Line service from the Carson Station to 7th Street Station. CATS will implement a “LYNX Connector” bus-bridge from the Carson Station to 7th Street Station. Each affected station will be served by a nearby bus stop.
The bus-bridge will go into effect at the start of service on Sunday, August 23 through end-of-service on Monday, August 24.
Other than the impacts stated above, CATS will continue to operate the modified schedule implemented on June 8.
CATS says regular local fare is required and continues to serve as a transfer.
