CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte 49ers are bound for the Bahamas on December 20 after accepting a bid to the Bahamas Bowl!

• Tickets to the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl are $50.
• 49ers ticket office will be open for special hours, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1.
• Charlotte will play the Buffalo Bulls. Both teams are 7-5 on the season.

The announcement was made Sunday afternoon on the team's Twitter page. 

The 49ers (7-5) will take on the Buffalo Bulls (7-5) in the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl. The game is scheduled to take place on Friday, December 20 at 2 p.m. at Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas. 

The bowl game will be the first in program history.

"We are extremely excited for our university, our team and our fans to accept an invitation to the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl," says 49ers Director of Athletics Mike Hill. "We couldn't imagine a better setting for our first-ever bowl game. This team has demonstrated incredible resilience and earned this opportunity. Niner Nation can't wait to head to the Bahamas!" 

Charlotte finished the regular season with a school-record five-game win streak, and a school-best 5-3 record in Conference USA play.
