A native of Cincinnati, Jason Brown graduated from Ohio University with a degree in broadcast journalism. Following graduation, Jason jumped right into his passion of sports reporting in eastern North Carolina, where he covered everything from high school sports to the US Golf Open. In 2003, Jason kicked off his now 15-year stint with the Spectrum News Charlotte sports team.
This Associated Press Award winner has covered hundreds of stories, and, with each one, takes pride in being an accurate source of information for his viewers. Throughout Jason’s time as a reporter, one story sticks with him as his most memorable - his feature on a high school softball player who was battling a rare form of cancer. Being able to get to know and learn about the strength and courage she showed each day is something that Jason will always keep with him.
When Jason isn’t covering the latest sports news, you can find him enjoying all that the City of Charlotte has to offer with his wife and their pup, usually with a glass of sweet tea in his hand.
