It's a busy week in North Carolina ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

Former President Donald Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will all be visiting North Carolina for a final round of campaign events as Election Day nears.

What You Need To Know

  • Trump and Harris will both be in North Carolina this week

  • Early voting ends Saturday and Election Day is Nov. 5

  • There are hundreds of statewide and local races on the ballot, including for governor, attorney general and every member of the U.S. House

Trump will be visiting Rocky Mount on Wednesday for a rally that will begin at 1 p.m.

Harris will visit Raleigh, North Carolina, on the same day for a campaign event, and Walz will travel to Greensboro, Asheville and Charlotte to encourage people to vote early for Democrats on the ballot.

North Carolina is a winner-takes-all state with 16 votes in the Electoral College. These votes could prove key to who wins the presidential election. A Democrat hasn't won a presidential contest in North Carolina since Barack Obama in 2008.

Over 2.8 million North Carolinians had voted early by Monday morning, either in person or by mail, according to the State Board of Elections. That means about 36% or registered voters have already cast ballots.

Early voting ends Saturday.

Hundreds of seats are on the ballot this year, including governor, attorney general, North Carolina's 14 representatives to the U.S. House and every member of the North Carolina General Assembly.
