GREENSBORO, N.C. — A newly launched bus route is giving some North Carolinians easier travel to Virginia.

What You Need To Know

  • The route starts in Winston-Salem and ends in Danville, VA

  • It also makes stops in Greensboro and Reidsville

  • Danville, VA did a survey where more than 1,000 people requested the route

  • It runs twice daily

The Triad-Danville Connector runs twice a day, seven days a week.

The route will begin in Winston-Salem N.C., at the downtown transit center, and will make stops in Greensboro and Reidsville before arriving at the Danville Transit Center in Danville, Virginia.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation said it's an opportunity to provide travel options to more people.

"One of the primary drivers here is to really provide intercity travel to people who don't have access to a car. All the time to get to those places outside their city and outside their state when they need to,” said Hart Evans, statewide planning and programming manager for NCDOT.

Officials say the connector could expand in the future.
