NEW YORK CITY — When reporting on national politics, it's pretty easy to get stuck in the media bubble. So, with a consequential election just weeks away, I'm jumping in a car and driving from New York to California, on a mission to meet with some of the millions of Americans whose votes will decide our country's future.

My plan is to travel for 10 days through a whole lot of big cities and small towns, with a focus on some of the swing states, to report on the election's most important issues through the eyes of the people who face them firsthand.

Join me on this journey to see all the highs and lows. You can follow along on Spectrum News and on the Spectrum News app, where I'll be live-blogging the entire experience.

See you on the road!
