A Charlotte-area track coach is accused of sexually assaulting teen girls, and there could be more victims, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

Daszmar Lammon Lockart, 37, was arrested Tuesday and charged with statutory rape of a child 15 years of age or younger, three counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of statutory sex offense with a child age 15 or younger.

Lockhart is an independent contractor in the Charlotte area and owns Lock Nation Athletics.

"In early September 2024, an adult victim reported to police that she was sexually assaulted on multiple occasions by a former track coach. The victim identified Mr. Lockhart as the suspect," police said. Since then, two additional victims came forward and reported being previously sexually assaulted by Lockhart.

The victims, all females, were ages 11, 14 and 15 when they were assaulted, according to police.

"It is our strong belief that Mr. Lockhart betrayed more teens in our community and perhaps elsewhere in the state," police said.

Any additional victims in this case are asked to call detectives at 704-336-7495 or Crimestoppers at 704-334-1600.

“We trust teachers. We trust those coaches that deal with extracurricular activities. And so this is one of those cases where someone betrayed a child's trust and also the parents who hired him," Captain Jason Helton said.
