This will be at least Trump's fifth campaign stop in North Carolina this year. A Wilmington rally was previously scheduled in April but had to be canceled due to bad weather.

On Tuesday, Gov. Tim Walz, Democratic candidate for vice president, was also in North Carolina speaking at a rally in Asheville. It was part of a two-day series of political events planned in Georgia and North Carolina, the Harris-Walz campaign said in a release.

It was Walz's second visit to the Tar Heel state since being named Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate in August. Walz’s visit also came less than a week after Harris made campaign stops in Charlotte and Greensboro.
