Republican presidential nominee former President Donald Trump will make a campaign stop in North Carolina for the second time in just over a week.

Trump and his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, will speak on national security during a rally in Asheboro on Wednesday, the campaign announced Saturday. The event at the N.C. Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame is set to start at 2 p.m.

On Aug. 14, Trump was in Asheville for what was billed as a major economic address, where he pledged to halt inflation and boost energy production in an effort to raise Americans’ standard of living.

The Asheboro rally is expected to focus more on foreign policy.

“A Trump-Vance Administration will Make America Great Again by stopping the migrant invasion and carrying out the largest deportation in our country’s history, curbing Chinese and Iranian threats, and making America strong again by restoring America’s rightful standing and respect on the world stage,” the Trump campaign said in a news release announcing the visit.

The stop in North Carolina is part of the Trump campaign's jam-packed schedule this week aimed at countering the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

On Monday, Trump delivered a speech at a factory in Pennsylvania, and on Friday, he will hold another rally in Glendale, Arizona.

North Carolina is one of several battleground states that both the Republicans and Democrats have set sights on this election season.

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris was in North Carolina last week to outline her economic policy during a visit to Raleigh.
