WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — One person was reported wounded in a shooting at a mall in North Carolina on Wednesday, according to police.

A verbal and physical confrontation inside Hanes Mall, off Interstate 40 in Winston-Salem, led to the shooting, police said, adding that it was not a random act.

Responding officers found a victim with a gunshot wound outside the mall at about 3:30 p.m., police said. The victim was taken to a hospital.

Officers found the suspect, identified as Angelo Addie Reid VI, 22, of Winston-Salem, shortly after and arrested him without incident.

The mall reopened to the public after a lockdown.

Authorities said charges are forthcoming.
