CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. – A Charlotte man on a fishing outing at Jordan Lake drowned late Saturday night, authorities say.

Pradip Kumar Bhujel, 25, of Charlotte, waded into the water near Northeast Creek at about 11:40 p.m. and disappeared, witnesses said, according to the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office.

First responders including from the sheriff’s office found Bhujel’s body.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Pradip Kumar Bhujel,” Sheriff Mike Roberson said.

The sheriff’s office and medical examiner are investigating.
