Fayetteville police and the FBI revealed Thursday that the Deven family, the foster family of Blake and London Deven, neither of whom have been seen in several years, still lives in a Fayetteville home that has been searched multiple times.

During a search of the home on April 8, the FBI told Spectrum News 1 the family no longer lived there.

What You Need To Know

  • Authorities said Thursday the Deven family still lives in a Fayetteville home that has been searched multiple times

  • The FBI previously said the family no longer lived in the Berridale Drive home

  • Blake, 17, and London, 27, Deven have not been seen in several years

  • Investigators found partial skeletal human remains last week, but they have not been identified and were not found at the Berridale home

Authorities are asking anyone who has been to the home to contact them as they attempt to piece together the timeline of the case.

Authorities said in a press release Thursday that the Deven family moved to 1433 Berridale Drive in 2019 and continues to live there. Investigators have searched the home multiple times over the past month.

Police discovered partial skeletal human remains related to the case last week, but said they were not found at the Berridale Drive house. It has not yet been determined who the remains belong to, and testing could take weeks to months, and may not result in a positive identification, police said.

Police also revealed Thursday that the Deven family moved to 1834 Eichelberger Drive in late 2016, where they lived until 2019. The family currently living at the house is not related to the investigation and is fully cooperating, according to authorities.

In an April 5 press conference, Fayetteville Chief of Police Kemberle Braden said police and the FBI executed a search warrant “at a home where the Deven family used to live” that day. It’s not clear what home he was referring to.

Officials are asking anyone who has been to either home to contact them.

"Investigators are asking anyone who visited these addresses, delivered something, bought something, sold something repaired something or saw something to contact us," police said in a news release Thursday.

The case

All of this comes as police are still attempting to piece together the timeline of missing Blake, 17 years old, and London, 27 years old, Deven. Police said family members told them Blake Deven has not been seen for "several years." London was last seen in 2019, according to authorities. Both lived with the same foster family, who moved to Fayetteville in 2015.

"While conducting interviews in a separate police investigation, several members of Blake's family reported they have not seen him in several years. On March 27, 2024, the Fayetteville Police Department and the FBI searched three locations in Fayetteville, North Carolina, as part of the expanding investigation to find Blake," FBI officials said.

Felicia Chandler, Blake’s biological mother, posted on Facebook earlier this month asking for the public’s help to find her son. She said Blake’s birth name is Trenton Dewayne Shuler, and was changed when “he was tak[en] from me” and given to a foster family.

After investigating the disappearance of Blake, authorities identified London Deven as a possible missing relative of Blake Deven on April 4. The most recent photo available to investigators is from approximately 2007. London Deven was likely 12 years old.

The last photo of Blake Deven available to investigators is from around 2012. Police say while conducting interviews in a separate investigation, members of Blake's family reported that they had not seen him in "several years." It's not clear how long it's been since he was last seen.

"Due to the unusual circumstances of his reported disappearance, the Fayetteville Police Department's Homicide Unit, which also investigates missing and endangered persons, is leading the investigation," police said.

The FBI added posters of Blake and London Deven to its missing persons webpage.

Anyone with information regarding the location of Blake or London Deven is asked to call the Fayetteville police tip line at (910) 578-2697 or contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
