It was a scene full of destruction. Franklin Graham walked around some of the hardest hit areas in Israel. He saw burned homes, heard stories of death and destruction, and saw where a hand grenade went off.

  • They are donating ambulances to replace onces that were damaged

  • They are also helping to get people food

Graham’s organization, Samaritan’s Purse, sprang into action when the war broke out, and the group started assessing the humanitarian needs.

Ken Isaacs helped with the effort. He has worked for Samaritan’s Purse for 35 years and has been all over the world. He has been to Israel several times before and just returned home from there after being on a two-week trip, which included visiting the border of Gaza and traveling north near the Lebanese border.

During that time, he stated that their priority was to identify the most urgent needs and provide help whenever they could.

“We’re visiting the hotels and centers where people are. We’re working with church partners distributing food vouchers,” Isaacs said.

They worked with Palestinian Christians, who packed food, and also worked to give out school supplies.

“We have made commitments for a trauma center for psychological trauma that involves horses, sort of like a petting zoo,” Isaacs said.

One of the biggest projects they are working on is to provide 14 ambulances to replace the ones destroyed. They are also giving seven armored ambulances.

“Really, what we’re doing is trying to identify what the needs are, where the needs are, and then we are trying to meet the needs,” Isaacs said.

He added that he hopes all they are doing in Israel will help people feel safe again soon.

“We want to do what we can to help people have the confidence to come back to their homes and rebuild their lives,” Isaacs said.
