Pender County Schools Communications Coordinator Bob Fankboner says the vehicle caused "extensive damage" to the building, but no one was hurt. Water and power were also not impacted.

The school is installing a temporary wall as the district works on plans to permanently fix the damage. There is no timeline for when permanent repairs will be complete.

Details surrounding what caused the vehicle to crash into the school have not been released.
