Andy Hatch traveled two hours from Virginia for the race event and enjoyed experiencing the Fan Zone.

Although she's excited to see the race action, Hatch says being at the speedway also brings back memories she'll never forget.

"I was here [over] 30 years ago and I haven't been back since," Hatch said. "Everyone I was here with has passed away or I haven't seen in years so this is awesome, a lot of memories."

Vendors expressed their gratitude and excitement for helping to make the Fan Zone memorable for attendees such as Hatch, despite the wet weather.

Roman Romagnoli runs Roman's All-Star Cafe.

He says his business is participating in NASCAR events all year.

Romagnoli says a lot of works goes into preparing for the large-scale race events.

"Once you get through the logistics, then it's how am I going to get my stuff there? Who's driving what truck? What time we're leaving," Romagnoli said.

Like many vendors, Romagnoli hoped for a rain-free day.

"It slows us down because the customer count is very very slow," Romagnoli said. "So we adjust how much we're cooking."

Although the rain may have slowed down some of the events and crowds, he says the Fan Zone experience must go on, which means business as usual.

"You can't let the rain discourage you," Romagnoli said. "I can't control the weather so I don't worry about the weather."
