CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer is expected to be OK after a driver hit the officer’s motorcycle in Charlotte’s University City area Thursday morning, CMPD says.
It happened on North Tryon Street near Rocky River Road.
Officers were in the area for a traffic investigation when police say a vehicle drove the wrong way on North Tryon Street and struck the officer’s motorcycle.
The officer jumped off the motorcycle as it was being hit. Officials say the officer has only minor injuries from the crash.
Police took the driver into custody.
