A soldier based at Fort Bragg was removed from a flight and then arrested when he began cursing at ticket counter staff and “began chasing people around the terminal,” according to police.

Airport police arrested Luis Angel Rosas, 24, Tuesday and charged him with disorderly conduct. Officials at Fort Bragg confirmed Rosas is a private in the Army.

Police said they were called to Gate C-10 at Raleigh-Durham International Airport at about 8:45 p.m. An officer found Rosas “visibly irate,” and “he was chasing a ticket agent,” according to a heavily redacted police report.

A JetBlue employee told police they removed the man from a plane because he was intoxicated and was having “trouble putting on his seatbelt,” the report states.

When the police officer got to the gate, he “smelled a strong odor of alcohol and noticed he was staggering,” according to the report.

JetBlue said they would not book Rosas on a new flight, police said. The officer told Rosas “to spend a night at a hotel and develop another travel plan the following day. Rosas then became uncooperative, began raising his voice and yelled profanities.”

As the officer escorted the private out of the terminal, Rosas tried to turn around and go back into the concourse, the report states.

“Rosas became aggressive at this time,” the officer wrote. After the airport police officer arrested Rosas, he “made repeated threats of physical violence against me,” according to the report.

Rosas is with the 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, according to Capt. Matt Visser with Fort Bragg. Visser said the Army is also investigating Rosas’ actions at RDU.

Rosas was taken to the Wake County Detention Center and released with a promise to appear. His court data is set for April 25.
